I used to believe I had nothing.
For many years, whenever I needed anything—food, school supplies, even small household items—I found myself calling relatives, neighbors, or anyone who could help. I depended completely on others because I truly thought I had no resources of my own. I felt stuck, discouraged, and constantly worried about the future of my family.
Everything changed when I joined the Community Transformation (CT) program through Twelve21 Global.
During the trainings, I learned something that completely shifted my life: resources are not only money—resources include skills, time, land, creativity, and the people around me. As I listened, I began to realize that I had overlooked some of the greatest resources God had already placed in my life—my own husband and children.
So one night I called my family together. I shared with them what I was learning and encouraged all of us to become united in work together. My husband was very supportive, and for the first time we started seeing ourselves as a team.
We decided to stop waiting for help and instead use what God had already placed in our hands—our land and our farming knowledge. We planted cassava and worked hard on our farm as a family. When the harvest came, we sold what we grew. That small beginning marked the start of a new era for us.
Through CT, I also learned the importance of saving—something I had never done before. Little by little, we saved from our farm income. We used part of the money to start keeping chickens, cows, and rabbits. Our home began to change. Our life began to strengthen. Our confidence began to grow.
With unity, savings, and God’s grace, we even managed to build a bigger and better house for our family. We live up on the hills where nights are very dark with many trees and bushes all around, so I used my savings to buy a solar panel. Now our home has light, safety, and hope.
Today, I no longer say I have nothing.
Today, I know I am blessed with resources, ideas, a hardworking family, and a brighter future.
