Monica is not just a Bible translator—she is living proof of God’s grace and transforming power.
Born again in 2010, Monica’s life was once marked by deep struggles. “I was addicted to alcohol,” she shares honestly. “My life had no direction. I was lost.” But God had a different story in mind for her.
Since surrendering her life to Christ, Monica has walked a journey of healing and transformation. One of the most powerful chapters of that journey began when she joined the Kabwa Bible translation team.
“This work has been more than just a job to me,” Monica says with a smile. “It has been a journey of deep personal change. Through translating the Scriptures, I have seen my own life being transformed day by day.”
Working with God’s Word so closely has shaped not only her faith but also her identity. She says the process of translating the Bible into her own language has strengthened her understanding of Scripture in ways she never imagined.
“There are verses I have read before, but when I translate them, they speak to me in new, personal ways,” she explains. “Sometimes I pause and cry—not because I’m sad, but because I’m overwhelmed by how God is speaking to me.”
For Monica, this work has become her testimony. From addiction to purpose, from confusion to clarity—God has used her life as a vessel of hope.
“I never thought I would be here. I never thought someone like me could be used by God to translate His Word. But here I am,” she says, beaming with joy. “I am grateful. I am humbled. And I am full of joy for how far God has brought me.”
Monica’s story is not just about a woman changed—it’s about a woman called, redeemed, and now helping bring the Word of God to her people in their heart language.
